Cthulhu Statue, H.P. Lovecraft Monster Figure (Handmade, UV-Resin)
Handmade 3D-printed statue of Lord Cthulhu. Dimensions: 5"x4"x4".
The first appearance of the monster character happened back in 1928 in the short novel "The Call of Cthulhu". Since that time the popularity of Cthulhu spread across Western pop-culture tremendously, and even overpasses its creator American writer H.P. Lovecraft. Cthulhu represents more than just a powerful alien god from another world, it's the fear of the unknown, the existential terror that we all feel. According to H.P Lovecraft himself: “The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown.” Also take in consideration that Cthulhu brings fear and madness just by looking at him.
Each statue is made by 3D printing process of UV-cured non-brittle expensive resin. The whole process of 3D-printing can take up to 16 hours. Then it's painted in black primer with a silver/gold metallic compound imitating the look of an antique silver/gold statue of the vintage gothic style. And finally coated with protective lacquer. For the Black option, the statue is finished in black primer without silver or gold metallic wax. 3D printed models may have high level of intricate details and geometry that's impossible to achieve in mass production processes.
